Monk/Natalie Fanmix - Something's Gotta Give

Okay, I've got many a Monk fanmix in store over the next few weeks as the series *sniff* winds down. 3 of these will be Monk/Natalie related for shippers/fans.

This first fanmix is could be considered Volume A of a 2-part collection as it contains songs that seem to be building up to an ultimate relationship -and the next fanmix is based on them already together. Thus, the title, Something's Gotta Give. Some of the songs are slightly angsty and question the ability for the relationship to actually work or materialize. Others are hopeful/needy even for something more to happen. And a few of the Natalie point of view songs are as though she is trying to get Mr. Monk to see what she already wants.

1. Got Dynamite - Demi Lovato
(Because Monk's heart is guarded that sometimes it seems like it will take dynamite for someone to break through)
When the walls come crashing down, I hope you're standing right in front of me. When the past lies all around. Cause all you need to save me is to intervene and make the walls come crashing down.

2. Everyday - Jessie Daniels
(Because Natalie is trying so hard to get through to Monk and show him she cares)
Everyday I try to tell you. Every time I think I get through, you put up a wall. You're so invincible. But nothing could keep me away. I'll find a way everyday.

3. So Close - Jon McLaughlin
(Because Monk is so close, but so far from giving into what he knows he really wants)
A life goes by. Romantic dreams must die. So I bid mine goodbye and never knew. So close was waiting, waiting here with you.

4. It Will Be Me - Kristin Chenoweth
(Because Natalie has been with Monk long enough to realize no one else can love him the way she loves him)
When all the others have gone and hurt you, who won’t desert you? It will be me.

(Because Monk is so afraid that he'll lose Natalie the same way he lost Trudy or that he'll push Natalie away for good)
And I hope that you can see I will someday leave these things. I am waiting to be free. But I'm feeling the pain of all these bags in the way, And I'm thinking you'll just go and run away.

6. Where You Are - Everlife
(Both Monk and Natalie's point of view in this one. Because both have been up and down together, but still can't seem to realize the common ground they share)
I've been up. I've been down. You know my smile. You know my frown. I just love when you're around. I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be where you are.

7. Curl Up & Die - Relient K
(The title just screams Monk right? Monk isn't really trying to hurt Natalie like he does in episodes like "On Wheels" or others. He does care, but just has a hard time showing it because of his mindset)
I don't like the steps I took to get to look into your deepest feelings. But I don't like the place I'm in. Head space between the hardwood and the ceiling.

8. Lost In Your Own Life - Alexa Vega
(Because Natalie wants Monk to know she'll always be there and he doesn't have to be lost anymore)
I want you to know you're never alone. You'll always have a place to go that's on the brighter side. I'll color your night. I'll lead you to light. Put hope inside for you to find. You don't have to be lost, lost in your own life.

9. I Want You To Want Me - KSM
(Both points of views. Because Monk and Natalie both just really need each other. Says so in "The Two Assistants" book actually...)
